Waiting in Line: Newport, Rhode Island, July 2001 The next morning in Newport, RI, we headed to The Breakers, the summer home of some members of the Vanderbilt family. And what a home it was. We had to wait in line a bit to take a tour of the house, and unfortunately, I couldn’t take any photos of the interior. But take my word for it the house is splendid and opulent.
